At the beginning session we will discuss your difficulties and the reasons you are seeking help. This will also be an opportunity for you talk about what your expectations are for therapy. The initial session is also for me to decide whether I think I can offer you the help you need or whether I think that you might be better helped by another therapist or organisation, in which case I will discuss this with you. If we agree to work together then we will discuss arrangements for further sessions.

Initial consultation:

Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions form a contract between us for therapeutic work. It is important that you read, understand and sign these terms and conditions before you proceed with therapy.

Session continuity will be agreed at the end of the initial consultation and I will subsequently reserve a time slot of 50 minutes for you for any further sessions. I charge for any missed or cancelled sessions (within 24 hours) unless we can find an alternative time. If you are unable to attend a session please let me know as soon as possible as there may be some situations where you may be not be charged for the cancelled or missed session.

I will give you as much notice as possible of holidays and other absences I foresee. If I need to cancel a session in the event of an emergency I will make arrangements to replace this missed session where possible.

Regularity of sessions and cancellation policy:
Confidentiality:

Overall, what is said between you and me in the therapy sessions is strictly confidential. However, there are some exceptional circumstances under which confidentiality will be breached, even without your permission, and they are:

  • If I feel that you are a danger to yourself or to others or if there is sufficient evidence to raise concern of the health, welfare or safety of children or vulnerable adults. In these circumstances, I will initially encourage you to contact an appropriate source of support/help. However, if I feel that you are unable to do so I will have to make this contact myself but I will discuss this with you first before passing any information on to others and explain why I am taking this course of action. If the danger is sufficiently acute, for example if you have gone missing in worrying circumstances, or if you are not able to make rational decisions regarding your personal safety or that of others, then discussing a breach in confidentiality with you may not be possible.

  • I am in supervision as part of my commitment to good practice as this is in keeping with my professional duties and NMC code of conduct to which I adhere to. The duty of confidentiality extends to my supervisor/s who is also a qualified and accredited professional.

  • In addition to this, by way of respecting your privacy, if I see you outside of the office premises, I will not approach or acknowledge you unless you do so first.

Fees:

I take payment in full at the end of each session by either cash or cheque (payable to Zoe Pizzie). Unfortunately I do not have the facilities to accept credit or debit card payments, but I can give internet bank details should that be more accessible.

Arrival and late attendance:

I regret that I cannot make up time if you are late. If you wish to arrive earlier than your appointment time, there is a waiting room at the Jubilee Community Centre, below my therapy room.

Emergency:

Regrettably, I do not offer emergency support as I cannot guarantee my availability to you. If you are in danger in any way please contact the emergency services, your GP, the Samaritans (08457 90 90 90) or Childline (0800 1111).
